MDQuit's 6th Annual Best Practices Conference

We would like to thank Drs. Lillian Eby and Judith Prochaska for their wonderful keynote addresses and workshops and thank all of attendees who made our conference one of the best yet!

A special thanks to Dawn Berkowitz, Chief, Division of Federal and Special Tobacco Control Initiatives for an overview of DHMH’s cigar initiative as well as updates on upcoming issues and policies. Additionally, we would also like to thank Deputy Secretary Renata Henry for her inspirational words and encouragement; Rita Turner, JD, Deputy Director of the Legal Resource Center, UM,B School of Law for her updates on upcoming legislation; and Stephen Stahley, for information on the Leadership Academy’s survey on tobacco use in Maryland’s behavioral health communities. Finally, we’d like to acknowledge Cecil County Health Department who was presented with MDQuit’s 1st Annual Fax to Assist award for having the highest number of Fax to Assist referrals to the Quitline in the past year.
